AppWow is a global WebStore built for discovery.
The Web has evolved far beyond conventional websites. Today it includes websites, web applications, Progressive Web Apps, Hybrid Web Apps and increasingly sophisticated digital experiences that can work across devices without depending upon a traditional app store.
AppWow brings that expanding world together, making digital experiences easier to find, understand and use, regardless of the technology used to create them.
It is an open approach to discovery: independent developers and publishers continue to own, host and operate their own products while AppWow provides another way for people to discover and access them.
THE APPWOW EVOSYSTEM
The AppWow EVOSYSTEM
AppWow is developed by VESIRON Technologies Ltd, an independent UK technology company developing new approaches to web discovery, creation and interaction.
Around AppWow is a growing EVOSYSTEM of connected technologies and services. AppWow provides broad discovery; specialist Linx provide more focused discovery; Wapps provide a new approach to web presence and interaction; and independent developers can introduce their own digital products through the Developer Platform.
Each has its own purpose, while being designed to work as part of a much larger digital environment.
A NEW WEB PRESENCE
The distinction between a website and an app is becoming increasingly unnecessary.
A Wapp combines the universal accessibility of the Web with the immediacy and user experience associated with an App.
A Wapp can be reached directly through the Web and discovered through AppWow without requiring the conventional download-and-install process associated with native app stores.
WappSite takes this concept into a complete modern web presence.
WappVert provides a different approach. It can give a business a modern, highly discoverable digital presence of its own, but it can also recharge an existing website by providing a fresh discovery window into it. An older website can therefore continue doing the job it was built to do while WappVert provides a new, contemporary route through which people can discover and engage with the business.
HYBRID WEB APP
HWA — one foundation, multiple experiences
The Hybrid Web App (HWA) extends the concept further.
Rather than assuming that one digital presence must always look and behave in exactly the same way, HWA enables multi-use and multi-view experiences from a common digital foundation.
The same underlying information and services can therefore be presented differently according to how, where or why they are being used.
This creates opportunities for a digital presence to become more adaptable without requiring a completely separate product for every use.
SPECIALIST DISCOVERY
The Linx — discovery with a purpose
AppWow provides broad discovery. The Linx provide specialist discovery.
Within the EVOSYSTEM, environments including LinxLocal, Arcadia, CarLinx, HomeLinx, SportingLinx and LinxMart focus discovery around particular interests and needs.
The principle is simple: sometimes people want to explore broadly; at other times they already know the type of thing they are looking for.
The Linx allow both approaches to exist within the same EVOSYSTEM.
OPEN PLATFORM
Open to independent developers
AppWow discovery is not restricted to products created using VESIRON technology.
Independent developers can introduce eligible externally hosted applications and digital experiences through the Developer Platform. Their products remain independently owned, hosted and operated.
Developers therefore do not have to build a Wapp to participate in AppWow, and AppWow does not have to host an application simply to help people discover it.

This version of AppWow
This version of AppWow establishes the foundation of an expanding EVOSYSTEM — bringing together broad and specialist discovery with new approaches to creating, publishing and experiencing the Web.
Further developments will extend that EVOSYSTEM over time. Those currently being prepared are introduced separately under Coming Soon.
